Britney: For the Record—Did She Reveal Enough?

The pop princess attempted to set the record straight last night with an MTV documentary; we want to know if you think that happened

So let's talk about this Britney comeback...actually, we should probably think of a different name for it, as the pop star pointed out last night on Britney: For the Record that she doesn't like that term. Maybe the Britney Revival?

Anyway, Thanksgiving weekend kicked off the Britney Revival Overload. Already there've been a few European performances, a Rolling Stone cover, a Glamour cover and then the premiere of the long-awaited MTV documentary that was supposed to clear up what the hell she was thinking last year.

Sure, we read many of the quotes prior to the doc’s premiere, but actually watching Britney tear up as she flat-out admits, "I'm sad"; sit quietly while the paparazzi freak out; or lament about how she used to be a cool chick was actually pretty heartbreaking.

She didn’t always provide as many answers we wanted—like her reason for shaving her head: “People shave their heads all the time.” But then Madonna showed up and explained that Brit is examining herself, slowly realizing there is order in the universe, growing up, and everything will be fine. (Maybe one day Britney can hope to be as wise as Madge, minus the weird baseball-player scandal?)

In the end, Brit hopes we see she’s just a normal girl who loves her babies and works very hard. Of course the whole thing can also be seen as a powerfully manipulative 90-minute commercial for the New Britney. So which version did you see?

And don’t forget that Operation Britney Revival Overload continues tomorrow when the album drops, along with a Good Morning America performance, and the week closes with the premiere of a new music video. Who's excited?
