Just when you thought Drew Barrymore couldn't get any happier, she did!

The actress turned 40 in February, and unlike some women in Hollywood, she didn't fret about getting older. "Are you one of those people who gets freaked out about 40?" Ellen DeGeneres asked on her talk show Tuesday.

"Oh God, no," the Never Been Kissed star responded. "It's weird. When I was a kid I felt like I should be older, because I was working and not really being a kid. Then when I was in my 20s, I was like, 'I want to be a kid a kid finally'...Now it's the first time in my life that my age has met up with where my life is, and it's perfect."

In fact, Barrymore added, "I love being 40."

"That fantastic," the host said. "That's how you should feel."

"I always felt like not my age, and now I feel my age and I love it," Barrymore said. "It feels comfortable." DeGeneres then reminded her, "Well, you've had quite a life!"

The former wild child laughed at the memories, saying, "I sure did!"

During her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Barrymore also opened up about her two daughters, Olive, 2, and Frankie, nearly 14 months.

"Olive is...I don't know exactly who she is, but it's just fascinating to find out who you're children are," she said of her firstborn daughter with Will Kopelman. "If you say, like, 'Hi Olive,' she [stares blankly]." Frankie, meanwhile, will look excited.

"Frankie is just so happy all the time!" Barrymore explained. "It's ridiculous."
