Partying? Stealing?
It's all in a day's work for Emma Watson's fame-obsessed character as the latest trailer for Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring hits the Web, courtesy of Yahoo.
The new teaser offers up more details about this tale inspired by the real-life group of teens who broke into the Hollywood Hills residences of celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Orlando Bloom and ripped them off of up to $3 million worth of jewelry, designer clothes and other high-priced items.
In it, the erstwhile Harry Potter star casts a much darker spell as Nicki, the thieves' bad-girl ringleader who declares "I want to rob." And when she and her cohorts aren't hitting the dance clubs, they're doing just that, hatching daring raids on various stars' homes and drawing the attention of the law.
It's not what Hermione Granger would do, but then the part represents a much darker turn for Watson.
"It all comes back to bad choices. Who you have as your friend," Nicki says in the trailer.
The role is certainly looking like a great choice for Emma.
The Bling Ring is set to open the Un Certain Regard section of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival next month before hitting theaters on June 14.
