To paraphrase a popular religious creed, "There is no comedy but The Office, and Steve Carell is the messenger of The Office." (Blasphemy is hilarious, no? No?) Despite breakout seasons for 30 Rock and Ugly Betty, the enduring popularity of Two and a Half Men and the glamour of Entourage, The Office still stands head and shoulders above every other "laffer" on television. It is simply a perfect storm of popularity and critical acclaim, and it should blow away the competition.
