Sad day for cult faves: first Heroes, now FlashForward. As we reported earlier, ABC's superhyped series is dead in the water...officially. And fans might want to cover their ears right about now because according to Sonya Walger (Olivia, Lost's Penny), a lady we absolutely adore, there's some worse news:

The final two episodes of the series are great, but leave things way open-ended. Will fans appreciate the FlashForward payoff? Probably not...

"There's some closure to it, but there's an awful lot left unexplained," the soft-spoken Brit tells us. One positive is that things really do come full circle from the pilot, but the resolution just isn't there in the series' final hour.

"It was so satisfying to read the finale because there are still glitches in the system. There are anomalies—it's like a beautiful map puzzle that just rounds itself out."

OK, so FlashForward won't be back. There are still some awesome things in the final hours, she promises.

"There's another flash-forward brewing, but it remains to be seen if it happens or not," Sonya tells us. "The finale is just brilliantly written. It's so satisfying to watch how everybody ends up—or doesn't—in the positions that they saw themselves in the pilot. Watching these chess pieces move into position so that everyone is where they saw themselves being is ingenious. And by the end of the penultimate episode [next week], they've pushed everyone as far away from their final positions as they could possibly be. It's a brilliant device."

Sonya's character Olivia will have a big focus shift in the final two eps as well. "Olivia's prime concern becomes Charlie, her little girl, and making sure that she's OK. That becomes her guiding star, not if Mark (Joseph Fiennes) is all right or am I going to hook up with Lloyd (Jack Davenport)," Sonya explains. "In pursuing that goal, all of these other things fall into place."

Like which handsome man is right for her? Ummm, not quite.

"I go back and forth," she teases. "On the one hand, Mark's a good guy, and on the other hand he's a useless family man, which starts taking its toll. Lloyd is kind and makes her laugh, but he's not the father of her daughter."

And there you have it. The end of FlashForward is just around the corner, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy its final hours, right? Our advice? Take it for what it is and don't expect many answers.
