Marianna Day Massey/ZUMA PressLane Garrison was back in a Beverly Hills courtroom—again—Wednesday. This time, the 31-year-old former Prison Break star pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence.
On April 22, just six days before his parole stemming from a vehicular manslaughter conviction was set to end, Garrison was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence against his girlfriend Ashley Mattingly. He was charged with battery for the incident and has been behind bars ever since.
Today in court, his bail request was granted and set at $50,000; his next court hearing will be July 11.
Unfortunately, Garrison has a long history of trouble with the law. In February, Beverly Hills cops investigated an incident at Mattingly's apartment after she called 911 on him, but no arrests were made.
In 2007, he was sentenced to 40 months in jail after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter for his role in a DUI crash that killed a 17-year-old boy. (At the time of the crash, Garrison had cocaine in his system and a blood alcohol content level that was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.)
In 2009, he was released early after participating in a rehabilitative program behind bars.
If convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, Garrison could spend up to a year behind bars and a $2,000 fine. He could be in more trouble if a judge determines the arrest was a violation of his parole terms.
