As if the family doesn't have enough troubles with Arnold Schwarzeneggerand Maria Shriver's pending divorce, now this happens.

Christopher Schwarzenegger, the estranged couple's 13-year-old son, was hospitalized with serious injuries following a surfing mishap in Malibu last weekend.

Here's what we know.

Chris suffered multiple broken bones and a collapsed lung in the boogie boarding accident and is currently in the intensive care unit. Maria, who was with him on the beach, has been at his bedside ever since while Arnold has visited his son in the hospital regularly.

His condition has since been upgraded and he's expected to be OK.

"A few days ago our son Christopher suffered an accident at the beach," Schwarzenegger and Shriver said in a joint statement.

"While it has been a very scary week, Christopher is surrounded by his family and friends. He is a brave boy and is expected to make a full recovery. On behalf of our entire family, we want to sincerely thank the paramedics and lifeguards who responded so swiftly as well as the doctors, nurses, emergency room and hospital staff who have cared for our son. They have been extraordinary to him and to us. We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and ask for respect and privacy for Christopher and our family."

Christopher is the youngest of the Schwarzenegger brood, who also include 17-year-old Patrick, 19-year-old Christina (who turns 20 tomorrow), and 21-year-old Katherine.

Get well, Chris!
