Lena Dunham is quickly becoming our fitness inspiration.

Four months after the Girls star revealed that her "really hot" parents inspired her to start working out, the multi-hypenate posted a shot on Instagram of herself running in NYC—and the 29-year-old actress isn't afraid to admit she's damn proud of the pic!

"Not usually one to post a paparazzi shot but this fills me with pride," she began in her lengthy caption. "Basically my whole life I have hated running and run like a wounded baby Pterodactyl. It was embarrassing and honestly I did not trust myself to escape a burning building or even move briskly towards a buffet."

She continued, noting she received a little bit of added motivation from pal Jenni Konner and even took a running training session.

"@jennikonner is directing the season finale of Girls and decided that as Hannah evolved so would her run, so she got me a training session with Matt Wilpers from Mile High Run Club. "Within an hour I had a different relationship to this formerly torturous activity. I felt strong, swift and proud. I'm not about to embrace that triathlon life but it's a true joy to continue getting more connected to my body and its powers. Dunham, who has never been one to shy away from talking about her curvy figure, opened up to David Letterman in March about her figure and revealed her weight loss was due to her new exercise regime.

"I wanted to do it because I was losing by breath when I walked up like that stair," she said, pointing to a small step by the stage. "And also, [because of] both my parents [Caroll Dunham and Laurie Simmons], who are 65...they're both real exercise fiends, and it started in the last five years..."

"My dad can lift these really heavy weights and do kettle bells," she continued. "They can both jump rope and they look really hot, and I was just starting to feel like I was really dragging behind. I was like, 'You're more than twice my age, and I look like a bag of trash next to you!'"

In spite of her confidence, Dunham isn't afraid to also admit to her insecurities—such as the time when she walked with BFF Taylor Swift and her model gal pals in the singer's concert.

"I've been feeling pretty tall, feeling pretty sturdy, and it was amazing to me, like, 'Oh, I'm not tall, I'm chubby.' It's different. But I mean, on most days, I feel really great and fine about my body, but I don't think standing next to, like, three supermodels or so is anything even the most confident woman needs to do," she admitted. "When I socialize with those women, which I've done a little bit, because they're good friends of Taylor's, who is a good friend of mine, I don't feel so strange. But the minute I caught sight of myself in the Jumobtron, I knew something was very wrong."

We feel you, Lena. Keep up the great work, girl!
