The 2015 Teen Choice Award nominations were announced this morning and one category in particular caught everyone's attention: Fashion Choice Male Hottie.
So what's the big deal? Aside from Austin Mahone, Ryan Guzman, Justin Bieber and 5 Seconds of Summer being nominated, One Direction and Zayn Malik also earned spots in the category.
It's safe to say that if either wins, it'll be a reaction that Directioners won't soon forget.
And while there's been plenty of social media drama unfolding, the boy band and singer have tried to keep things as positive as possible when speaking publically.
In his first interview after announcing he was leaving the group, Malik told The Sun that he was "feeling quite interesting."
"I have never felt more in control in my life. And I feel like I'm doing what's right, and right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good."
"I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people's happiness—and that was mainly the fans. And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them. And, basically, I'm only upset I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way. That's the main thing that I don't want to happen," Malik added.
"It's not that I've turned my back on them or anything, it's just that I just can't do that anymore because it's not real to me."
Malik also denied at the time that he was at odds with band members Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles. Addressing the alleged "negativity between us," he said, "They couldn't be more wrong."
