Why Lady Gaga's Longtime Stylist Quit: "She Changes 12 Times a Day; It's Insane"

Looks like Lady Gaga is getting dumped.

But contrary to what you might think, her latest split isn't a case of a "Bad Romance."

Instead, Mother Monster's longtime stylist Nicola Formichetti—you know, the guy behind the infamous meat dress she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards—is parting ways with the singer.

That's right, Formichetti, who is currently Diesel's artistic director and Uniqlo's creative fashion director, won't be dressing the artist in in choice cuts of beef—or normal clothes, for that matter—for her upcoming Artpop album promotion

But the breakup definitely isn't indicative of fallout between the fashionable duo.

"She's going to be my BFF forever, but my ex-assistant Brandon [Maxwell] is heading that project," the former creative director at Thierry Mugler told Women's Wear Daily.

So, if they're still on good terms, why the break?

"I'm too busy with [other commitments]. I've done two albums with her, it's been like five years, and you know, I'm always going to be involved somehow, but I cannot do it every day. She changes 12 times a day; it's insane."

Indeed, 12 daily wardrobe changes is enough to stress out any stylist, but we're guessing it's particularly grueling with Gaga, who has been known to accessorize with everything from an egg to a lace-covered face and—who could forget?—tiny Kermit the Frogs.

We're getting tired just thinking of putting together such over-the-top outfits!

Although, lately, Lady Gaga has been ditching clothes for the promotion of Artpop, appearing au naturel in V magazine, so perhaps Formichetti wouldn't have had such a tough time working with her after all!
