It takes years, dedication, blood and sweat to be able to earn a gold medal around your neck. Or, you know, a really cute and furry mug.

Andy Murray's pets opted for the latter route, and just a day after Team GB's new Olympic champ made his way off the Wimbledon court, he posted a photo of his lucky dogs wearing the fruits of his labor.

"Here we go folks...Just checking to make sure Rusty definitely has the silver, obviously," Murray tweeted alongside the photo.

The gold was wrapped around the neck of Maggie May, Murray's beloved dog for whom he set up her own (no joke) Twitter account last year. It came, of course, courtesy of the Scottish ace's singles play against Roger Federer, while the silver was won for his mixed doubles partnership with Laura Robson.

Going to the dogs never looked so cute.
