Whether or not the backlash has been warranted, Internet justice is swift, and the past 24 hours haven't exactly been kind to Kristen Stewart.

But at least one A-list has the actress's back following her public apology to Robert Pattinson after details and photos emerged of her indiscretion with Snow White and the Huntsman's married, father-of-two filmmaker Rupert Sanders.

Cue Lady Gaga for the defense.

"Geez this kirstew rob stuff is brutal. Makes me sad the way press acts," her ladyship tweeted just moments ago, apparently missing the point that it wasn't the press caught making out with its director.

"Hope they're ok," Gaga added, referring to Robsten.

Why we can't speak for R.Pattz, who has understandably shown no signs of speaking for himself since the bombshell news broke yesterday afternoon, his current state remains questionable.

It also remains to be seen whether Kristen will welcome the rather odd public show of support from Gaga—the young star has more pressing things on her mind at the moment.

Earlier today, the 22-year-oldTwilight heroine released a public apology to her 26-year-old costar, declaring herself "deeply sorry" for her caught-on-tape dalliance. Of Rob, she said, "I love him, I love him, I'm sorry."

Time will tell if he offers her forgiveness. Meantime, at least she's got one famous shoulder to cry on.
